About walking
Enjoyable, healthy and free, it’s no surprise that walking is popular in Cheshire East.
And it’s getting even more so – In 2020 32% of all trips made were on foot. (see below for source)
Getting fitter: a walk in the park
Most journeys involve at least a small amount of walking anyway, but by building on-foot travel into your trips you can reap serious health benefits.
Steadily walking just one mile – which takes an average person under 20 minutes – burns around 100 calories, and regularly walking can reduce your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.
Take a walk!
Nothing’s easier than going for a stroll or fitting it around your schedule.
Why not have a wander on your lunch break or even get off a bus stop earlier on a regular journey?
