  • Active Crewe Travel encourages active travel as a realistic, normal, comfortable choice.
  • Bike Safety in the UK – general safety tips and advice on bike safety from bobbinbikes.com
  • British Cycling is the governing body for cycling in Great Britain – BMX, Cycle Speedway, Cyclo-Cross, Mountain Bike, Road and Track plus information for disabled cyclists. Go Ride is their cycling programme for young people.
  • Canal & River Trust have details of canals and rivers that provide over 1,500 miles of towpaths around the country, although not all towpaths may be suitable for cycling.
  • Congleton Cycling Campaign is a  group of volunteers who would like to see conditions improve for cycling in and around Congleton for workers, shoppers and school children.
  • Congleton Ladies Social Cycling Group (Facebook) is a new 18+ women only Social Cycling group in Congleton to get more women on their bike. It’s a friendly fun supportive group, helping each other to get fitter and more confident riding our bike. We do off road trail runs, road riding and a little more adventure at well known bike routes.
  • CTC, the national cycling charity, inspires and helps people to cycle and keep cycling.
  • Cycle2work is Halford’s scheme promoting the national cycle to work initiative.
  • Cycle Macclesfield deals with fears of cycling, shows how to ride safely, quieter cross-town routes. Local cycling groups, bike shops, and sources of training.
  • CycleWilmslow is a non-political community organisation campaigning for better cycling provision in Wilmslow, Handforth, Alderley Edge, Styal and Morley.
  • Cycles Recycled is a Community Interest Company located in Stockport, run as a social enterprise to assist more people to cycle more often through cycle promotion, recycling, cycle maintenance, training and refurbishment.
  • Cyclescheme is a national scheme offering tax-free bikes for cycling to work.
  • Cycling Projects has information on several projects: ‘Bikelinks’ helps Community Groups start cycling projects. ‘Cycle Life Style’ works with young people, Primary Care Trusts and people with disabilities. ‘Wheels for All’ provides cycling opportunities for anyone who isn’t able to manage a two-wheeled bike.
  • Headway aims to promote the wearing of bicycle helmets by the under 16 age group on a national scale.
  • Highway Code has the legal requirements for all road users, including cyclists.
  • Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is a registered charity providing information, advice, resources and training, including a leaflet “Sharing the Road Together: Drivers and Cyclists”.
  • St Paul’s Centre refurbishes bikes for resale at affordable prices whilst offering training and development opportunities in its workshop.
  • Sustrans are the sustainable transport charity, working on practical projects to encourage people to walk, cycle and use public transport in order to reduce motor traffic and its adverse effects.
