Cyclists across Cheshire East took part in the 2016 Cycle to Work Day

Cycle to Work day

Cyclists in Cheshire East joined nearly 50,000 riders who took part in national Cycle to Work Day.

Every year cyclists pledge to swap four wheels for two and make their daily commute by bike for one day.

This year 44,937 cyclists made the pledge – and together saved over £300,000.

Commuting to work or school by bike is a great way to help people get fit, save money and help the environment.

Riders pledging to take part in Cycle to Work Day on September 14 saved more than 140,000 tonnes in carbon emissions – and burnt more than 20 million calories!

Everyone taking part was entered into a draw to win prizes including bikes and cycling gear.
